The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), was founded as a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in pursuance of Resolution No. 2/8-E adopted by the Eighth Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM), held in Tripoli in May 1977. The Centre started its activities in Ankara on 1 June 1978.

The IMS Bulletin is published 10 times per year by the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. It publishes news about IMS members and about the probability and statistics community, discussion on issues of interest to IMS members, information about meetings, conferences, journals, and employment opportunities.

Originally, in 1971, an Institute was established in Baghdad-Iraq as the Regional Institute for Training and Research in Statistics for the Near East which consisted of all Arab countries and some Regional countries (Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Cyprus) under the authority of UN & UNDP at that time and it was called the 1st phase of the institute (1971-1974) (Document Ref. REM/71/174/D/01/2).

 

Pakistan Journal of Statistics (PJS) is a premier research journal published from its headquarters in Pakistan since 1985. The journal is published quarterly containing three issues per volume.
The PJS is ranked as one of the core journals in statistics for the “Current Index to Statistics” of American Statistical Association, USA.
